100% Barbera from the Monferratto Hills in the South of Asti, Piedmonte.
Hand picked from vines at least 40 years old and fermented in stainless steel before ageing in a combination of French oak and traditional Piedmonte vats. After 12 months the wines are blended and bottled for release.
Intense purple in colour with aromas of plum, blueberry, smoke, and spice. The palate is rich with ripe fruit, think juicy red and black cherry, damsons, and sweet spice notes. The lively acidity typical of the region is ameliorated by soft oak tannins.
