Cracking everyday drinking claret from Entre-Deux-Mers, Bordeaux AC.

A typical blend from the region, it is 50% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 15% Cabernet Franc. The soils are clay and limestone, perfect for Merlot, and this makes the wine approachable when youthful, unlike Left Bank reds.

The grapes are carefully sorted before pre-fermentation maceration, fermentation itself takes place in used oak vats. The wine then undergoes post fermentation ageing on the lees for upto 10 days before bottling.

Intense ruby in colour with attractive aromas of red and black fruit, especially cassis and plum. On the palate it is medium bodied with racey tannins and a nice balance between fruit and freshness. The finish is excellent.

12.5% ABV, this wine can be enjoyed now for cellared for up to 5 years. A great partner to roast Welsh Black beef, hard continental cheeses, or osso buco.
