Gjetost (also known as Gudbrandsdalen Mesost) is a traditional Norwegian brown cheese made from a blend of goat’s and cow’s milk whey. Slowly boiled until the natural sugars caramelise, Gjetost develops its iconic light brown colour, fudge-like texture, and a sweet, tangy flavour that’s unlike any other cheese.
Produced by Tine, this semi-hard cheese has a fat content of around 30% and is known for its smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a rich taste often described as sweet caramel with a slight tang.
